What service does DistinctCards.Com provide?DistinctCards.Com takes your photo print (black/white or color) and converts it into one of many customized design cards. We think we offer the most customized options and room for creativity in the business. Please refer to the products link to see samples of our cards. After selecting a design, please complete one order form per picture and 1)send it to us along with your photo and a check, money order, credit card payment for the total amount due.2) Submit digital photo, online web order form and credit card info to "yourpay.com" via the website. How do I order a card?Please take a few moments to review our sample pages and the answers to our "Frequently asked Questions". 1)Print the order form, fill out each category completely and legibly and mail with your photo and check or money order made payable to DistinctCards.Com. 2) Send an e-mail with a digital photo, complete and submit online order form to info@distinctcards.com, credit card payment via "yourpay.com" on the website. No order will be shipped without payment and signed/submitted and checked order form. Back to Top
How do I submit more than one picture?Please print a separate order form for each card order. One payment can be made for the total amount. Different card sizes can be ordered on the same order sheet using the same picture. Back to Top
What do the cards look like?There are 3 total card sizes, 1 post card design and 2 fold-over designs. All include envelopes. The small fold-over design measures 4.25" by 5.5". The large post card and large fold-over design measure 5" by 7". Post cards are 90lb heavy card stock and fold-over cards are 100lb bright white text fiber or natural white (light cream.) What does the card packaging look like?All cards are packaged in an attractive cellophane bag with matching ribbon and the DistinctCards.Com logo label. Back to Top
What if I can't decide which custom option to use for my picture?In every category on the order form, you are required to pick an option. If you are unsure what would look best, select the "DistinctCards recommended" choice box on the order form and we will pick what we feel looks best for your picture and occasion. If you pick this option, you can make minor corrections to our card of choice but you cannot have us "try" multiple photo options, colors, and edges to see what looks best without incurring additional cost because each variation is essentially like starting a new order for us. We strive to make each card as individual as we can and most people have been extremely happy with our choices. We are happy to discuss you ideas if you like (919) 466-8601. If you like a particular sample card, print the sample page , circle the card you like and write in any additional comments you would like to make or include in your e-mail the sample numbers for us to refer to. How long will it take to get my order?Orders are completed and shipped out within 5 days of receiving your order. (so add expected shipping time from and to your location). The only exception to this is the holiday rush season (November 15-December 8 and then we can only guarantee 10 day turnaround. We send an e-mail proof for you to verify and will not ship without verification unless so noted on your order form. Please check your e-mail daily as this could delay the prompt turnaround.If you need the cards in a hurry, you can express ship your order to us and select the express shipping option on the order form to have your order shipped to you using express service. What kind of photo works best?Obviously the better quality photo you send us the better the card will look. Color photos can be converted to black and white. We can zoom in on a subject but be careful with small images (roughly 2 inches in diameter) since they will lose resolution when they are enlarged. If you are choosing the customized thematic option, the ideal approach is to take the picture with the card and occasion in mind. Have the subject pose in such a way that we can add clip art to complete the design. Hats can usually be added as can hand props and background objects. Shoes and clothing are difficult to alter so if it matters toward your theme, have the subject wear the ballet shoes/outfit, the cleats, the skates, etc in the photo. See extra options page, Number 1, Thematic clipart and text and also see the examples on the products page for some of the cards we have done in the past. If you have several photos and are unsure which would be best to use, send them all and rank them as to your favorites knowing we will choose the picture that we feel works the best artistically. If you are not flexible, send only the one photo you want us to try to work with. Changing the photo will incur a $10 fee. Back to Top
Do certain pictures work best with certain cards?Full size pictures and feathered edge images work on any card, postcard or note card. Images where you have chosen to eliminate the background work best in conjunction with text and/or clipart to "fill up" the page. With this in mind, you might chose a postcard since all the information can fit on one page. Back to Top
Do you accept digital photos?Yes but please be aware that digital images smaller that 640x480 pixels and images with less than 300dpi resolution don't work as well as color photos. Back to Top
What if I have my own idea of how I want the card to look?Feel free to send a hand sketched diagram with notes as to what you would like. We will do our best to come as close to your concept within reason. Please understand that our designs are not an "exact science" (which is what makes them one of a kind). Will my photo(s) be returned?Yes, all photos are returned with your order. Back to Top
Do you accept credit cards?Yes, through "yourpay", a secure payment system on the website. If you prefer, send a check or money order (made payable to DistinctCards.Com) with your order. NO orders will be shipped without prior payment. Back to Top
Can DistinctCards.Com e-mail me a sample card?Our step by step order form has been designed to contain sufficient detail for our artists to create a truly unique card that exceeds your expectations. Our customers have been very pleased with their cards using this approach. We will e-mail a sample card for your approval. We are happy to make minor changes and "tweak" the card to perfection, however we reserve the right to charge extra when we feel requests are unreasonable.
